Community Response - March 4, 2021

Red River Gorge photo - mountains, clouds, and sunset

Dear campus community,

Several rounds of winter storms and heavy rain have devastated parts of our community and areas in the region we serve. Many residents have either lost or been displaced from their homes. They are also facing water shortages or no access to water in their homes. EKU is Kentucky’s University. It means being present for Kentuckians during good times and times of need. Our state needs us now. I know the Colonel community will heed the call.

If you are interested in donating items to Kentucky citizens in need, please deliver the items to the Student Life Office in the Powell Student Center.

Items needed are:

  • Bottled Water
  • Non-perishable food (items that don’t require any preparation)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Laundry detergent
  • Trash bags
  • Small or medium buckets
  • Mops and brooms
  • Towels and cleaning cloths

Items must be dropped off by Tuesday, March 9th. Any amount of items donated is appreciated.

One Eastern,

David McFaddin
President
